Darrell has always enjoyed meeting new people and making them feel welcome when they visit the Smokies! From his days of running the Wonderland Hotel, to being known as "The Legend" of Tennessee Shine to now having his own store, Darrell can always be heard asking the familiar... "Where you folks from"?
Darrell has created a place that seems to invite people to slow down and take it all in. From the minute you pull in and step up on the front porch, people are tempted to sit in the rockers and take in the beauty of Cove Mountain. And most do! When you step in, you are usually greeted with a friendly "How do", "Come inside, look around." Then you are able to take in not only what the vendors have, but what Darrell has selected to fill the store himself. A room entirely dedicated to Christmas, shelves filled with old tools, glassware, classic books, vintage toys, vintage knives and fishing gear and so much more. Darrell searches to find those unique items that customers look for. Can't find it? Tell him and it will be put on his list to find for you! As Darrell always says; "Come visit us in The Chosen Land".

DeAnna has been a part of the store from the planning stages. Always ready to decorate and collaborate on new ideas , she can also be found in the store several days a week. Like Darrell, she enjoys meeting new people and always looks forward to the regulars who stop by to exchange stories along with the smiles and laughs that always follow. As time went on, she decided to become a vendor as well. So, with her sons and neices bringing up a special memory from their childhood, a name was decided on and The Wooden Spoon came to be! DeAnna's items can be found on a shelf in the back room as well as other areas of the store. You will find a mixture of new and previously enjoyed home decor, Smoky Mountain themed items, candles, and so much more. She is always looking for new items to include so you never know what you will find! Also, you never know when you might get lucky and visit on a day when DeAnna and Darrell are experimenting in the kitchen making Apple Stack Cakes, fried pies or cooking a good old southern lunch. Many customers have been invited to eat and several have joined us at the table or accepted an offered piece of cake. We want everyone to feel like family when you visit the store! Come see us!

You will find Granny's treasures in her room and on a shelf in our back room. Stepping into Granny's is truly like a visit to your grandparent's home and taking in all of the memories that you grew up with and brought you comfort as a child. You are sure to find something special to decorate your home and bring new life to a timeless treasure.

Nanny's Shelf is filled with a little of everything. Home decor, toys, vintage, new, antique and more. The variety of items make her shelf a popular browsing spot. Customers will usually find something they just can't live without!
